Telomere biology disorders (TBDs)
DETAILS
A growing number of human diseases, including dyskeratosis congenita, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), liver cirrhosis, and various cancers, are linked to telomere biology disorders (TBDs) characterized by significantly altered telomere lengths (either shortened or elongated). We utilize state-of-the-art technology to characterize telomere length and identify genetic mutations in TBD patients, providing to a fundamental understanding of the relationship between telomere biology and human health.
